Weihai Guangwei Composites Co., Ltd. (GW COMPOS)
Founded in 1992 in China, GW COMPOS is the 1st private carbon fiber enterprise committed to research and manufacture of carbon fiber and composites. GW presides over the drafting of national standards of PAN-BASED CARBON FIBER and CARBON FIBER PREPREG. In 2024, the company established new carbon fiber production lines in Baotou, Inner Mongolia to expand production capacity. With 34+ years of experience in the industries, we are on a mission to offer our customers carbon fiber lightweight One-Stop solution: from carbon fiber, fabrics, prepreg, the finished composite components to composites machinery.
GW has integrated "621" development strategy which refers to 6 business units, 2 R&D platforms and 1 industrial park. GW COMPOS strives to become a competitive supplier of carbon and composites in the global market. The products are currently applied in fields such as aerospace, wind power generation, sports and leisure, hydrogen cylinders, automotive, rail transit, building reinforcement, 3C electronics, and photovoltaics... In 1987, 45-year-old Chen Guangwei was appointed to take over the struggling Petrochemical Scientific Research Equipment Factory, which was on the brink of bankruptcy. After conducting research, he decided to transform the company to produce fishing rods. Faced with the difficult situation of having no equipment, Chen Guangwei and his team worked tirelessly for more than 150 days and nights to develop China's first domestic fishing rod production equipment line.
1997,first wide carbon fiber prepreg production line in China.
2002,1st private carbon fiber enterprise in China. 1st to achieve carbon fiber equipment self-sufficiency in China.
Built the first domestic carbon fiber production line with an annual capacity of thousands of tons.
GW COMPOS (300699) went public and was listed on the ChiNext board of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
GW COMPOS has delivered its first unmanned aerial vehicle platform to customers. The carbon fiber produced through the dry-jet wet-spinning process has achieved a precursor spinning speed of 500 meters per minute.
GW COMPOS has delivered the unmanned transport aircraft platform to its customers. It has also received the second prize of the National Technical Invention Award and has been nominated for the China Quality Award.
GW COMPOS' carbon fiber has passed the equipment review process. The unmanned transport aircraft, in which the company participated in the research and development, has achieved its maiden flight. Successfully completed its first flight in Poyang, Jiangxi. The second-generation carbon fiber composite wing sail, which GW COMPOS was involved in developing, has been successfully applied to the large oil tanker.
Inner Mongolia Guangwei Carbon Fiber Co., Ltd. is a high-performance carbon fiber research and development and production base established by Weihai Guangwei Composite Materials Co., Ltd. in Baotou City. The primary focus is on producing carbon fiber products that combine high performance with low cost to meet the needs of the civilian industrial sector.
